Scott Mitchell on Wild Open Spaces: Our Future Zoo
September 18, 2019

The Erie Zoo has been an integral part of the community since its founding in 1924, becoming one of the region's most treasured destinations. As technology and other distractions increasingly keep people from experiencing nature, the 15-acre Zoo has become an even more important means to rekindle a love and respect for wildlife and inspire partnership in protecting our natural world. The time is now to open the next chapter of your Erie Zoo's history.

For the first time in 25 years, the Erie Zoo is embarking on a campaign to take its Wild Open Spaces to the next level. Executive Director Scott Mitchell will show us the proposed Master Plan to the park that will offer more WILD OPEN SPACES for our animals and help us better meet the needs of the animals and plants in our care – creating a unique environment that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

A boxed lunch will be served in the Zoo Rotary Pavillion at 11:30, the Program will begin at noon and following Q&A, participants will be able to roam the zoo at will.
